Well its been a while since I have updated this page... Things have been going, the basement is done (Basement Photos).

Winter in Erie... Its a great time. There is usually snow on the ground, the temps are cold, and if im lucky enough, cold enough to leave a block long vapor trail from my truck. However there are a vast majority of people in this town that HATE the snow. They hate the snow so much so that they refuse to do anything that has to with the snow, snow removal, snow tires, nothing! I on the other hand, prepare for winter, i get my snow blower out (a trusty MTD from the late 90s), i make sure the 4wheel drive is working on the truck. Once the snow is on the ground, im out driving in it, snow blowing it. Not even the plow drivers are as devoted to snow as i am.

I say that the plow drivers arent devoted to their job, because the other day, we got about a foot and a 1/2 or more of snow in a 12hr period. The city plows werent even out plowing the bus routes. The mayor delcared a snow emergency. A SNOW EMERGENCY! There wouldnt be an emergency if the damn plow operators would get in their nice heated trucks and drive! I just about passed out when i heard that we declared a snow emergency. In addition to the lack of city plow operators, the private plows are incompitent as well. Ok not all of them,but most of them. Some dont even comply with the regulations stating they have to have a flashing yellow light on the top of their truck. but thats the least of it, not even plowing a parking lot on a major road is a big problem... the apartment complex across from my house has not been plowed since the start of saturday. It has about 2ft of snow at the street and a 1/2 foot or more by the cars. The only reason i know this is because some of the tennants were out shoveling the snow so they could get out. I helped with my snow blower because i love snow blowing but the plows should have been there at least 2 times today. Then you have the people that will try to plow their compact cars through the 2ft snow mounds.

Lets talk about the Erie drivers.... They FLAT OUT stink! if 1 snowflake falls all of their driving ability goes out the window. 5mph is the max speed of most people! The road can be completely clear but if 1 flake is falling, 5mph!!! Now i do agree that 40mph can be a little fast but comeon, at least do 25mph. idk maybe i am just that comfortable behind the wheel of my truck or just that good of a driver, but its getting bad either way. Drive or get out of the way!!!

Well that is my rant for today about the people in erie, and snow. LEAVE ALREADY! Make room for people that like snow!
